Position: EUS Data & Reporting Service – Analytics and Reporting Implementation Specialist

Role Description:

The Analytics and Reporting Implementation Specialist will play a key role in setting up and migrating the End User Services (EUS) Data & Reporting platform as part of the DePuy Synthes divestiture. This role supports the Database Architect by provisioning cloud resources, replicating data pipelines, migrating reports, and validating analytics to ensure the new environment delivers accurate, reliable, and actionable insights for stakeholders.

The position requires strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI, along with proven expertise in enterprise-scale data and reporting migrations.


Key Responsibilities

Cloud Environment Setup

  • Provision and configure Azure SQL Databases, Azure Data Factory, and Microsoft Fabric (Power BI) workspaces in the DePuy Synthes cloud environment.
  • Ensure infrastructure aligns with the existing J&J environment, including database schemas, stored procedures, and security configurations.

Data Pipeline Replication

  • Re-create, configure, and validate Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from multiple source systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Microsoft 365, Salesforce Marketing Cloud).
  • Collaborate with data owners and system teams to secure access to required data feeds and resolve integration issues.

Report and Dashboard Migration

  • Migrate Power BI reports (PBIX files) and dataflows to the new Microsoft Fabric workspace.
  • Re-point reports to new data sources and validate visuals, calculations, and dashboards for accuracy and consistency.

Testing and Validation

  • Perform parallel runs with the legacy environment and compare key metrics and outputs.
  • Investigate and resolve data or reporting discrepancies.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and incorporate feedback from business users.

Cutover and Go-Live Support

  • Coordinate the transition to the new analytics environment, ensuring all pipelines and dashboards are fully operational.
  • Provide post-go-live support, monitor system health, and address any production issues.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including:
    • Azure SQL Database
    • Azure Data Factory
  • Strong expertise in Power BI, including:
    • Dataflows
    • Workspace management
    • Report deployment and validation
  • Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data integration, and cloud-based analytics solutions
  • Proven experience with data migration projects in enterprise or regulated environments
  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and identity/access management in Azure
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for data pipelines and reporting issues
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting divestitures, mergers, or large-scale cloud migrations
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Microsoft Fabric
    • Power BI
    • Azure Data Factory
    • Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
  • Relevant certifications such as:
    • Power BI Certification
    • Azure Data Engineer Certification
