Eachyear, the NCDPI team provides a comprehensive report to the Joint Legislative Education Oversight Committee (JLEOC) containing data collected for the current school year on the number and demographics of students who were eligible for advanced mathematics courses, including high school level mathematics courses in eighth grade, and for those students, the number and demographics of those who were placed in advanced mathematics courses and were not placed in advanced mathematics courses.

The AMC Implementation Guide was developed in collaboration with district and charter school partners to offer guidance around effective collaboration with internal stakeholders, communication with students and families, and compacting guidance to support student success in advanced coursework.

NCDPI has developed a brief overview guidance document to support AMC legislation implementation in the upcoming school year. This resource provides an overview of the legislation and outlines the legislation's impact on schools and students, along with some of the most frequently asked questions regarding the reporting requirements.

The official state course code list for advanced mathematics courses is updated each year to reflect any new courses to support districts in the statewide reporting effort. Only the course codes on this list will be included in the PowerSchool AMC report each year. The reporting window each year is October 1 - October 15.

This video resource will overview the purpose and timeline of the Advanced Math Course (AMC) report. In addition, the team will demonstrate the processes of running and approving the report at both the school and LEA level and highlight the override feature to correct any student data within the reporting hub.

The Advanced Course starts where The Landmark Forum left off.

The Landmark Advanced Course promises to leave you with the tools and technology for creating a future of your own design. In this course, you will:

A three-day educational program exploring the Court of Master Sommeliers standards in beverage sales and service in greater depth. The course consists of classroom-style lectures designed to give candidates a template for upper-level exam study and a clear understanding of expectations at the Advanced Sommelier Examination, and small breakout tasting sessions which allow for individualized feedback and advice.

The Court of Master Sommeliers, Americas (CMS-A) launched a modified format for the Advanced Sommelier Examination in 2022. This evolution provides candidates with greater access to the examination and improved feedback.

The new format, which is outlined below, mirrors the format of the Master Sommelier exam in which the Theory portion of the exam is separated from the Practical and Tasting portions of the exam. All three portions of the exam still must be passed in the same calendar year. Students applying for the Advanced Sommelier Exam will NOT be required to take the Sommelier Knowledge Assessment (SKA).

Candidates pursuing the Advanced Sommelier Certification will be required to successfully complete the Theory portion of the exam first. The Theory portion remains a written exam that will now be administered at a local-to-you, industry-leading Pearson VUE testing center.

Eligible students who apply for the Advanced Sommelier Examination will be required to successfully complete the Theory portion of the exam first. Information on scheduling the Theory exam at a Pearson VUE center will be provided via email to candidates whose applications are accepted. The Advanced Sommelier Theory Examination will have an unlimited number of seats to accommodate all qualified applicants who meet the eligibility criteria.

Applicant must have a minimum two years of restaurant experience in a service/sales position within seven years of the date the application is submitted. Current employment must be in the restaurant/hospitality or beverage industry.

NOTE: The Court of Master Sommeliers, Europe continues to offer a five-day Advanced Course and Examination. The respective Boards of the Court of Master Sommeliers, Americas and the Court of Master Sommeliers, Europe work together to ensure a common global standard. The only difference is the format in which the programs are offered. See Examination Site Policy for more information.

Completion of the 500 hour Advanced Herbal Course will get you well on your way to the 800 study hours needed to become a Registered Herbalist (RH) with American Herbalist Guild (AHG). Our Advanced Herbal Course is designed to support the educational standard required for those interested in working toward becoming a professional clinical herbalist. The curriculum has been designed with the type of academic rigor that will solidify your knowledge base and encourage the critical thinking skills necessary as you continue your herbal education and move on to gain the 400 hours of hands-on, clinical training you will also need to acquire to apply as a Registered Herbalist, should you choose that path.

The Advanced Herbal Course requires students to successfully pass 10 unit quizzes with a score of 80% or higher. In addition to reading and studying the lesson material throughout the course and passing the quizzes at the end of each unit, the course includes unit exercises and a monograph project to be completed on a self-study basis. The unit exercises have been developed to help students engage with and explore lesson content in more detail. The monograph project guides you through developing plant monographs for herbs of your own choosing. We recommend choosing 3-4 herbs discussed in each body system unit or wellness unit in the course and experiencing and researching each of these herbs, compiling the information into plant monographs.

Upon successful passage of all quizzes, students will be notified of their graduation with a signed certificate of completion.

While we recommend spending 1-2 months of serious study in each unit, students have the ability to work at their own pace toward completion of the course and can spend more or less time in each unit. Students will have Lifetime Access* to the online portion of the program. Each of the units, recipes, graphics, and video transcripts are available to download as printable PDF files should students want digital downloads or print copies.

These three treasured textbooks will be a valued addition to your herbal library! Please note: our textbooks are printed in small batches with a local print house and bindery, so these are offered for limited time periods. *Textbooks will display as backordered if not currently in stock.
