Hi All, (not sure who is currently running the show in Cork so said I’d include everyone I could find associated)
Hope all is well. Just wanted to touch base and introduce myself briefly. I am the Softball Munster Rep to the Softball Ireland Council and play for the Limerick Originals and Munster Softball Team. As far as I understand you are currently in the process of setting up an AGM…. Basically I am contacting you to offer some support in relation to Softball Munster, how we can get Cork back competing (as well as the other clubs that have fallen down in Munster over the last few years). Due to some of the goings on last year (which I can explain over a pint or 5 J ) I have decided to get involved and hope to position Munster Softball to be represented in a huge amount of competitions in both Ireland and the UK – we very much want Cork to be a part of that.
From my conversations there was a few issue’s last year in relation to pitches/location to train (and the costs associated with it) also in relation to insurance issue’s. I think that with the support of Softball Munster we can definitely help get everything back on track and hopefully lessen the financial burden when it comes to renting fields. Also we would love to see some Cork players on the Munster team over the next 12 months….
I have included corkso...@googlegroups.com on a separate mail that is a notification of the Softball Ireland AGM – if you could send this to your club members that would be hugely appreciated. I’m not sure what level of interest there will be in attending but let me know if you have anyone attending as I’d be happy to discuss any concerns beforehand.
I am only up the road based just outside of Clonmel and if anyone would like to meet informally or formally in Cork I’d be more than happy to do so as its only a short journey down the road. I’d be happy to discuss the support that Softball Munster/Softball Ireland can provide I’d be more than happy to do so. We are very serious about positioning all Munster teams to go on this year and take home a lot of silverware. J
