I have external swedish subtitles since the movies/shows I get almost never has other than english subs already embedded. So I then let the video go through bazarr that automatically search and downloads the correct swedish sub and place it in the video folder. Hope that makes sense.

Click export and choose the format that you'd like your subtitles either Swedish Subrip subtitle file (.srt) or Swedish WebVTT file (.vtt). Or, from the Subtitle menu, you can choose the ability to burn-in the Swedish captions into your video.

(I think Apple should message this complaint to MGM and/or their local Nordic representation on behalf of the buyers, and then they should re-submit a fixed version. So let Apple know. More reports may help in the persuasion.)

But when playing the movie, swedish is not an option in the subtitles popup. This have never ever happend when I rent or buy or watch a serie. If its there to view, all have swedish subtitles. I do wish to watch the final 007.

The linguists at SPG Studios are acutely aware of how word choice, phrasing, and accents influence perception and meaning. Our Swedish-language specialists and voice talent deliver that nuance and context. They are experts in all 6 major dialect groups within the language, as well as regional differences in communication style between speakers in Sweden and Finland. Moreover, their work passes through both peer review and quality control to ensure the finished product is culturally relevant and immersive.

There are more than 10 million Swedish speakers in Scandinavia. Swedish is the official language of both Sweden and Finland, and the most spoken language in the Nordic countries. It is the 14th-most spoken language in the European Union.

SPG has lots of vnner (friends) in Sweden! We work with a large and diverse range of native Swedish-speaking voice artists, directors, localization experts, and recording and mixing engineers. Depending on the content type and project goals, we can employ:

For many clients, the most crucial step in the process is casting Swedish voices. SPG can manage the entire process, or present you with filtered or unfiltered lists of voice samples. We can offer a near-limitless variety of ages, styles, tonal quality, and performance capabilities. SPG has dubbed children singing, aliens speaking a made-up language, and everything in between!

When text or narration is preferable to lip-sync voice dubbing, SPG offers subtitling, closed captioning, and audio description services. Our roster of Swedish translators, linguists, adapters, and editors have extensive experience creating subtitles and closed captions in a timely and cost-effective manner. We also employ audio description specialists with thousands of hours of experience delivering information to the sight-impaired community.

Is this something that never worked or lately? Which channel? It has always worked for me and I also watch Swedish channels but I don't use it anymore because the issue with the teletext subtitles is that they are a bit faster than the stream itself. It appears it is providers side as I have also tested on VLC and it was the same issue. I have informed this issue before in the past but I don't think the devs looked into it. Don't know if the devs could add an option to delay the teletext subtitles.

"On some older TVs can still choose the old teletext page for the different channels' subtitles, while checking on a different channel," SVT's Undertexts manager, Anna Zetterson, said in Swedish on its Facebook page. "So SVT, or any operator, didn't send these out. But it is something you can amuse yourself with on an older television set."

In the realm of media and entertainment, subtitling has gained tremendous popularity in recent years.Subtitling refers to the process of adding textual representation of the dialogue or narration of a video or movie, typically displayed at the bottom of the screen.

Subtitling involves transcribing the audio dialogue and syncing it with the visuals, either manually or with the help of software like Dubverse.ai that utilizes speech recognition technology to automatically transcribe the audio and generate subtitles.

Subtitling is a crucial component in the media and entertainment industry. It provides accessibility, clarity, and enables multilingual audiences to enjoy the content. With the help of subtitling software or professionals, subtitling can be done accurately and efficiently.

Subtitles are a common feature in movies, TV shows, and streaming platforms, making them accessible to viewers worldwide. Subtitles provide a solution to language barriers and allow the audience to fully appreciate the content. Additionally, subtitles are used in music videos to display lyrics, enhancing the overall experience for the viewer.

In the education sector, adding subtitles to educational videos and lectures will make them accessible to all students, including those with hearing impairments. Subtitles can also be used to translate high-quality educational content into different languages, enabling students who are non-native speakers to understand the material better.

Subtitles can be used in the business sector for corporate training videos, product demos, and presentations. By adding subtitles, companies can ensure that their content is accessible to employees and clients worldwide. Additionally, subtitles can improve comprehension and retention of information, making them an effective tool for learning and training, and improving the overall effectiveness of training sessions.

Social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok have become popular for sharing short videos. Adding subtitles to these videos can help creators reach and engage with a wider audience from different regions of the world. Subtitles also increase the chances of the video being watched in full, as viewers can understand the content without having to turn on the sound.

Government agencies and public sector organizations can use subtitles to make important information and announcements, including emergency alerts, public safety messages, and public service announcements, accessible to the public. Subtitles ensure that the information is understood by all, regardless of hearing ability or language proficiency.

Subtitling is the most commonly read medium of all in Scandinavia, and this study contains a survey of audiovisual translation (AVT), which illustrates the predominance of subtitling over other forms of AVT in Scandinavia. Still, the medium has not been very well researched.

This study compares Danish and Swedish subtitles with the object of uncovering Scandinavian norms for television subtitling. The corpus used consists of 100 contemporary anglophone films and TV programmes and their Swedish and Danish (+ some Norwegian) subtitles.

The study investigates technical norms of subtitling, such as exposure times, expected reading speeds, condensation rates and subtitle density. However, the study focuses on Extralinguistic Cultural References (ECRs). Generally speaking, ECRs are references to places, people, institutions, customs, food etc. that you may not know, even if you know the language in question. Seven main strategies for rendering ECRs in subtitles are identified: Retention, Specification, Direct Translation, Generalization, Substitution, Omission and the use of an Official Equivalent. Factors that influence which strategy is used, such as Transculturality and Extratextuality, are also identified. The results for Denmark and Sweden are compared, and norms are formulated and discussed in some detail.

TV4 is the only commercial channel ever to have broadcast nationally in the Swedish analogue terrestrial network, but the arrival of digital terrestrial television saw the TV4 monopoly on commercial television broken.

These are channels targeting all of Europe. This section may include virtually all channels available from any satellite that can be received in Sweden, but this list mostly concerns encrypted channels that are available from Swedish satellite distributors. Some have Swedish subtitles.

I can rationalise the reasons for remakes. I guess for many people, watching a story and characters in a foreign land speaking a foreign language is not appealing. Subtitles can detract from the visual experience of the story, following the words instead of the pictures. But for me, I think experiencing tv or films in the context in which they were set adds more to the experience than subtitles take away.
