Hi,

I try to install the best OS in the universe ( CoreOS 4.3.6 ) but I have an issue on a very simple thing, is change the keyboard to fr .

My goal is to make documentation for the French user and also to make an installation of docker. Here is the link on my blog : , comments are in French but the commands are universal language. I tried loadkeys frlocalectl set-keymap fr,  setxkbmap us and no file /etc/vconsole.conf and /etc/locale.conf, /etc/default/keyboard.

I’ll buy bread and I hope to have help returning ;).

Thanks for your help.

Frédéric

Here my blog with the the wonderful world of docker (in French sorry 😉)  http://www.cyber-neurones.org/tag/docker/ .

I haven't tried any locales beyond en_US.UTF-8, but I would suspect that you want to use systemd's localectl[1] tool.

Yeah, I just saw this issue[1].  CoreOS has a very stripped-down set of locales installed.

How did you enable en_US.UTF-8 local in CoreOS? I am stumped.

Has anyone been able to add a custom keyboard layout? I'm going crazy trying to add my own keyboard to a virtual box instance of container linux.

Most of the traditional ways to set the keyboard layout (ie setxkbmap) won't work on CL.

When using virtualbox you can ssh to the VM to preserve your local keyboard settings.

Cheers,
