This was the solution to all the other long emails and hour-long troubleshooting attempts:
> kubectl describe pvc
Everybody better note that line down in their Cheat-Sheets. =)
Failed to provision volume with StorageClass "fast": InvalidParameterValue: Iops to volume size ratio of 200.000000 is too high; maximum is 50

I forgot. This was essential too to remove artefacts on AWS:
kubectl delete pvc -l role=mongo
