I am trying to print some labels (actually name badges); using the
Avery instructions that come with them, I created a table with 1
column and 4 rows and set the top margin to 1", the bottom margin to
.8", and the row height to 2.25".

On Windows 2000 and with an HP Laserjet 1200, the bottom half inch of
the table will not print.

I tried 3 different drivers for the printer: HP LaserJet 1200 Series
PCL 5e, HP LaserJet 1100(MS), and HP LaserJet 4P. The latter 2
actually printed 1/4" less of the bottom.

Since I don't know how much space is left above and below a table, I
tried decreasing the bottom margin to insure that there was enough
space being allowed for the table. That made no difference at all.

Have you tried the Avery site (avery.com)? They may have
troubleshooting tips or corrected instructions.

The people in this group can help you better if you tell them what
version of WP you are using and what Avery product you are using
(product number).

Avery has a pdf file on formatting tips for name tags at:

http://www.avery.com/us/downloads/software/tips/NameBadges_071102.pdf

But you may have to email them for an answer.

Q: Where can I find Avery pre-set templates in Microsoft Word or
WordPerfect?

Formatting Tips for Microsoft Word, Word 6.0, Word 7.0, and Word 97
for Windows 95/98.

From the Tools menu, select Envelopes and Labels.
If Labels is not already selected, click on the Labels tab and choose
Options.
Highlight the Avery product you are using and click OK.
For single labels, or for a full sheet with the same information on
each label,

type in the text and click New Document.
To create a blank sheet and type your information directly onto each
label,
click on New Document and type in the text.
To use a merge file to create mailing labels, select Mail Merge from
the Tools
menu.
Print as usual. Note: If Gridlines do not appear after selecting New
Document,
select Show Gridlines from the Table menu.

Type in your information or merge fields. Press Ctrl+Enter to go to
the next
