I've been converting WP files to HTML for use on an intranet site.
Periodically, this has worked fine; I go to File -> Publish To -> HTML,
and choose my location. Sometimes, however, I get an error that says,
"Non-valid filename specified in" [path][filename]. I usually have to
wait a day, then try it again - and then it works, for no apparent
reason.
This morning, I got so frustrated that I decided to finally try and do
something about it, and I think I messed things up even more. One old
post that I had read (from about 2000, I think) suggested going to
Tools-> settings-> files and changing the default template. Well, I
tried that, and not only did it not work, but now I'm experiencing a
different problem, wherein I get an error that says, "Access denied:
you do not have rights to do this." I've also tried looking at the
file properties with Windows Explorer and unchecking the "Read-only"
and "Archive" check boxes, but that doesn't seem to make any
difference.
The thing that bugs the most about this is that sometimes it works and
sometimes it doesn't. If it consistently didn't work every single
time, I would have a better chance at diagnosing and solving the
problem. But sometimes, just when I think I'm going to go nuts, I'll
try the same thing twice in a row; the first time it won't work, and
the second time it will.
Any advice?
