I see that SP 4 is out now. Does it fix the issue with hyperlinks failing to
transfer to PDF files (with or without Acrobat)?
Does it also address the issue of the Table of Contents entries not making
it to the PDF file as well?

Summary of previous problem: create WP 9 document with hyperlinks (i.e.,
mailto:, etc.). Print either to WP version of PDF or using Acrobat
Distiller. Hyperlinks fail to show up in .PDF file. This was an "enhancement
request" confirmed by Corel. Hoping it made it into SP4.

Thanks in advance!

To reply personally, replace "nojunk" with "net."

No.

No.

But these are not exactly "bugs", rather a limitation that apparently
relates to the way Adobe wants to (not) work with Corel products. You
will note that Adobe issued a macro to make this work with Word.

(Of course, I haven't tested with Acrobat full version -- which I don't
have -- but I suspect the answer is the same.)

Browsing through the DLL that performs the WPD2PDF conversion, it looks like
it _is_ possible to obtain all those effects. Moreover, there's a PDF
conversion configuration file in which all kind of settings are put, but it
looks like the dll (or the dll caller) does not look for the file, since
changing it does not lead to changes in the dialog box adn/or the output.
Can anybody tell why?

I don't know the answer to that, but I found out a while back (the same
way as you) that changing that file didn't change anything in the
conversion ... that it doesn't seem to be referenced ...
I do know there's more to including hyperlinks than just wanting to, on
Corel's part, and that it requires a macro from Adobe to do it from Word.

The fact is that the PDF dll has a reference to the ini file. So I thought
that in some way it could be the caller's fault (POP90?) to oversee the ini
file. Moreover, hyperlinks should not be too difficult, as long as the PS
printer (PDF conversion internally goes through ps anyway) inserts adequate
pdfmarks in the temp ps file.

Thanks, Debra, for letting us know.

<Sigh> Perhaps in SP5... looks like the enhancement didn't make it in
this time.

Debra,

By the way -- welcome back. I've been missing your comments and
it's reassuring to see them again.

Anyway -- you mention an Adobe macro for Word. Do you happen to
remember, or know, where this might be available? Surely, a macro
written for Word should be able to be ported to WPWin if not in
Perfect Script, then surely in VBA.

I was just wondering where one might find the Word macro.

Thanks, and again, welcome back -- you were missed

It's been so long since I looked at this, that the references & locations
on the Adobe site have changed. I don't know if this is the one I was
looking at in the past (since it doesn't seem to be the same thing I
recall) but it is certainly one Word-specific component:

And thanks for the kind words.

Dale:

It is installed automatically as part of the complete Acrobat package. It
is not available separately and wouldn't work if it were, as it requires
the full Acrobat package to function.

If I recall correctly is ships with MS Office 2000 and with the full
versions of Acrobat -- I think that is the reason why I have two
versions on my system. I do not think it shipped with Office 97, but can
be downloaded sparately form MS server.
