Our WP2k address book is on the secondary drive.
We reinstalled our copy of WP2k onto the new drive, and would like to
import the old address book from the previous installation on the
secondary drive.
Problem: The original address book is a MAPI address book, and the new
installation of WP2k cannot use MAPI, returning the "MAPI Address
Books will not be available..." error when we attempt to create a new
MAPI address book to import the original into. We cannot import the
original into the default WP2k address books. When we tried, WP2k
added a second "default" address book with no data in it. (We can't
delete the second "default" book, nor the first.)
I thought WP2k installed its own MAPI server just for this purpose?
Why isn't WP2k able to create a MAPI address book?
We have reinstalled (updated) our new WP2k installation in an attempt
to get the proper system files in place, with no success...same
things.
We installed Outlook Express (no success with WP2k MAPI), and Outlook
(no success), thinking that they would install the Windows MAPI files.
We looked in the installation CDs for MAPIWIN95.dll and MAPINT4.dll,
as suggested in newsgroups re: earlier versions of WP, but they are
not on the WP2k CDs.
We cannot find a version of Windows Messenger that runs on Win98SE, so
that's out.
Running: Windows 98 SE, WP2k Suite, NOT running Outlook/Outlook
Express (two of the most dangerous pieces of software on the planet),
Calypso email client (our primary email client), and we tried the
Pegasus email client. (We installed Pegasus as a newsgroup poster
stated that this provided the required Simple MAPI files WP2k
needs...not so.)
Any help will be appreciated.
