Have you checked what the minimum margins are for the address label
printer?

What is the label? Is it one of the defaults in the WPWin9 label files?
Try creating a new label definition, recreating the original labels. This
sometimes appears to fix such oddities in label specifications.
The label is a default Avery. I have tried creating a new label as well - it works the first time but if I go to use
it again later, after saving it, it gives me the same problems as the defaults.
I appreciate your help, do you have any other suggestions?
I don't have WP9, but I had a problem in WP8. Check your label.frm and see
if it has margins. If so, and if you can't change them, it is because those
are the minimum requirements of your default printer.
I found that if I changed my default printer to my dot matrix (label)
printer, I could then change the margins on the label.frm to what I wanted.
When I changed the default printer back to my LJ3, the new margin settings
remained and I could print just fine on the label printer.
Hope this helps.

There are several other address labels (eg 4019) which have the same specs.
I have been experimenting with these, and the minimum margins are
printer-specific, as you are aware. And I agree that calling this same
label into WPWin8 gives you 0" margins all round, as default.
What I have found is that you can change the underlying papersize by the
size of the top and bottom margins. I don't know how this would print, but
it seems you can fool WPWin9 to giving the correct label size, as though on
a larger sheet of paper.
Thank you for the idea, I will play with the paper size. I have also started using the address format that pops up now after
you select and address from the address book. By selecting the label under format - labels it gives me the label with minimum
margins on the Laser printer and gives me correct minimums when I switch to the Dot. It is ok if I only need labels but often
I am using the same address for both labels and letters.
Thanks again for all your help.
PS. I a have noticed a few complaints about the Address Book in WP9, and I agree it sure is a step backwards. Oh well.
Well I have never used WP's address book, as I commissioned a shareware
version several years ago which works fine for me. And also I have my own
labels & envelopes macro which I have been using since WPWin7, so again I
cannot help from experience -- except to know that I have often found it
quicker to create my own labels from the Avery measurements than to use
their standard. Maybe this is because I use a 12 year old laser printer and
this way I deal with any idiosyncratic behaviour.
