Although I like and prefer to use wordperfect and qpw, I am forced to
use excel as my publisher cannot open qpw9 in his word program. What I
need to do and cannot is produce graphs (or should this be charts?
fairly simple line charts/graphs, anyway) with the 'X' axis as a log
scale, sometimes not always.
Log scaled 'Y' axis is no problem of course! I know I managed to get
what looked like log 'X' axis once in qpw9, by rotating chart thro'
90º, maybe twice?? but never could repeat it. In excel-no way I can
find. So questions are --
#1 is it possible to get log scaled 'X' axis in qpw9? how?
#2 is it possible to open qpw9 in (ugh!) "word97"?
I have looked at the "tucows" site and the shareware I've found all
seems to offer only 'Y' axis with log scale, or log/log which is not
what I need.
Any success stories out there?

Terry,

I just happened across your message - normally I don't look here.
However, have you tried the newsgroups at cnews.corel.com? It would be
better to post questions there.

Anyway - some answers.

This can be done in QP9.

Once you have created the chart, right click on the axis to bring up
properties dialog windoe, then select scale tab, then Log. (Same as for
y1 axis).

No - though I don't understand what you want to do. [I think you are
talking about your publishers inability to look at a qpw file] Is there a
file viewer - No. However, you can always export your chart to say a jpg
or bmp format which then could be loaded into W97 (yes ugh). In any
case, you can't load Excel in W97, though I suppose your puiblisher can
open Excel files because he has the MS office suite.

So whilst you can open an Excel file in QPW9, and save to many different
file formats the reverse is not true. MS provide very limited cross
application acessiblity... in fact almost none... then again that's MS.
