The help line advises me that when a new address book is created it makes
entries in the windows registry so these will missing and as Corel only give
support on import/export of *.abx files they will be of no help to me.
I have been thru the Address book settings and properties also the mail
accounts with no luck
Does anyone know of another approach?

Guy,
Very likely you used a password on your Windows 95/98 on your previous HDD, or
prior to formatting.
If you don't use the same password after reformatting your files are
"protected".
Revert to the old password and they will be there. Export the addressbook(s) in
the ABX format, change the password and reimport them in the "new" AB.
Alternatively believe they can be opened with Paradox, without knowing the
password.

You can also view them with Quickview, if you've forgotten the name that
you had in the prior install of windows, so you can see that login name &
then re-create it. (The field name is "created by".)
The reason this happens is that the My Addresses & Frequent Contacts books
(tabs) are only visible to the owner/creator.
