About all you can do is use Windows system colors (Tools | Settings, double
click on Display, Document tab, second box under Show). The drawback is that
you won't see any colors you apply to text.

Ahh! That's nice to know. The lack of this in WP8 is one of it's (admittedly few)
annoyances.

This is the one I was going to suggest, with a small difference: under
fill|styles, there's a 'sticky note' style at the bottom of the list of
available styles. Easy to change color from there.
I could see a macro which deletes the fill, prints & puts it back (?)
