I just started a very simple spreadsheet, maybe a dozen
cells. I plan to put some subtotals at the bottom of
columns, and some quotients at the right of two-numeric-cell
rows.
The sigma "sum" button worked fine for the subtotals. I
began to type @avg([etc], mistakenly thinking in terms of
averages. After the "@" sign, when I typed "a", I got a
program crash, complaining about QPW.EXE:
"QPW caused an invalid page fault in
module QPW.EXE at 016f:004478a6."
Over and over and over again.
After some experimenting, I discovered that I also get this
when I press a letter after pressing the plus sign (for
example, to get "+b3+b4"), or after pressing the "@" button
(when I put the cursor into the "cell contents" field).
I do *not* get it when I enter a formula beginning with the
parenthesis sign (for example, "(b3+b4)/b5").
I am astonished by this. I used QP only a few weeks ago,
using formulae extensively, and had nothing like this
problem.
Any thoughts?
