I have the Academic Edition of Corel Wordperfect 8 which worked fine on
my older Windows 95 system. Now that I have a new system with Windows
98SE, is it possible to use the same version? I have tried to install
it (more than once!) apparently successfully on my new system, but
whenever I start Wordperfect the system hangs momentarily before it
kicks in. There is always a delay of about 10 seconds before the cursor
starts to blink and I am allowed to type.
Are there any updates/revisions that I need for a successful
installation? Or do I have to purchase a whole new version for Windows
98SE?
Thank you.
ps. I have already installed all the updates/modifications from the
Corel site to bring my original copy up to date, to no avail.
I am sorry this email is so long! Thank you.

Please tell us about your system -- network or standalone, amount of RAM
memory, amount of free space on the hard drive, CPU, large applications
running in the background, etc.
You might also check your \TEMP and/or \WINDOWS\TEMP directories and clear
out any orphaned .TMP files and files starting with a tilde (~) in the name
or extension. Orphaned files have time/date stamps unrelated to the
current windows session.
