Help Please! WP8 & Microtek ScanMaker X6

Can someone help with this problem...
I have WP8 (for WIN 95 & NT; we have ME) and want to scan from our Microtek
ScanMaker X6 scanner into the WP8 word processor. Although the other
programs on our PC can find the scanner, WP8 can't. I've tried using setup
again. I've updated my WP8 software. Nothing works & I don't know what else
to do.
