Thanks for you response to my query.
I understood that Mapnt40.dll was for windows Nt and Mapi32.dll was for
windows 95/98, however, regardless, I have neither file on my WP8 cd.
This is possibly because The Version I have came with my new motherboard and
is on the CD with my system drivers.

Oh, well, then the OEM version you have doesn't likely even include the
address book! (There are some such versions.)

So you can install messaging from the Windows CD, or just rename
MAPI32.DLL for the extent of the WP install if it actually gives any error
about Messaging (which it shouldn't, since it's not installing the AB ...
but I don't design the install program so I can't guarantee it won't do
that!)

BTW, actually MAPNT40.DLL is for WIn98 & NT4 & W2K .... but in this case,
it's irrelevant if you don't have the files in the first place. The KB
articles are incorrect about the one to use for Win98, sorry.
