Try changing the resolution of your monitor, and/or the refresh rate ... which are
the usual reasons you can't see a single line like that.

WP writes directly to the screen. Word is not WYSIWYG and does not write to the
screen the same way.
Don't change the MONITOR, change the RESOLUTION and refresh rates in Display
properties (in Windows).
You can also try putting /FL after the command shortcut for WP, which changes how it
writes to the screen.

Another one to try is /DM for Display Metrics which often resolves problems
with underlines not showing. First try just /DM and then try /DM-90.
