straight single quote

I am using Ventura 4.2 with the Courier font. We are doing a book with
computer program printouts and I NEED to access a straight (not slanted)
single quote. The keyboard double quotes are straight, but the single
quote is not. I have tried accessing other characters with the alt key
and my numeric keypad, but all single quote-type characters are slanted.
I have been told that the character set for Courier includes both
slanted and straight, but I cannot discover how to access the straight
one on the PC keyboard. CAN YOU HELP?

In the Edit menu, go to Set Preferences and change the Apostrophe Mapping
from Typographic to Unmapped. This will convert your apostrophes and quote
marks to foot and inch marks. IOW, you can access one or the other but not
both.
