vp5 and Win98

I had upgraded to win98 over my win3.11 and had no problems running my
Corel Ventura 5 but recently I changed hard drives and on the new on I
upgraded using the insert disks features instead of coping all my
win3.11 file over first. I hoped this would be O.K. for my corel but
that does not seem to be the case. I reinstalled corel5 on my new hard
drive and used my tape back up to restore my previous publications. I
have been unable to get into some of those publications. I am give the
old dos error of close or ignor and then the new Win98 illegal operation
'close'. I tried vpfix but that did not help. I also have Lotus on
this system and when VP5 loads it asks to panose font match to a lotus
font.
Did I miss something? Am I conflicting with the Lotus? Is there a way
to get my VP5 to read those publication I can't open. Did I need
something that was in win.ini or sys.ini that is now missing?

Lotus what? There are a lot of different applications from
Lotus.

FWIW, I ran into problems trying to run VP8 on the same system
with Lotus Notes. I don't recall the details but it had
something to do with an error trapping utility installed with
Notes. Once I disabled (or deleted) that utility, it seemed
happy.

BTW, This was on a client' system. I personally don't use any
Lotus applications.
