Extracting thumbnails from CPT files

Hi all, especially developers!

Does anybody know how to extract a thumbnail from a Corel PhotoPaint
CPT file?
It is present at the end of the CPT file and it is used by the Preview
mode
in the File Open dialog of Corel products.
The problem is that it uses a strange encoding, perhaps a
sophisticated compression method, like the one used for the main
image.
