Disappearing text in a Memo Field

I've got a problem with a report I've been using for a long time. One of the
fields is a Memo. The memo contains a \r control character to force a line
break between two sentences.

The problem is that I'm loosing everything after the \r on some of the
records, not all of them.
I am not sure but I believe all the users are using HP 5 laser printers.
Does any one know of a problem specific to HP? Until recently the problem
was very sporadic. Now it seems as if every report has a disappearing line
on it somewhere.
Any ideas? The problem occurs on PDox 8, and PDox 8 runtime.

After further testing I find that I don't have the problem when printing to
Acrobat PDF printer driver. The problem seems to be with HP printer
drivers.

How about using a \n instead?
What are the fit height, word wrap, etc. settings?
