Thanks Cricket, but I tried all those and it was still not happening for
me. But, I did finally get it working....YES!!! I uninstalled Painter,
went into the registry and deleted all references to Painter Classic and
MetaCreations, re-booted with my Graphire un-plugged, then re-installed
Painter again. When I fired it up, I got the workspace and blank
palettes again, but I waited for a few minutes (saw the hard drive light
flash a couple times) and it just seemed to "kick in" on it's own....the
palettes filled up and I was in business! I then plugged in my tablet
and all was fine, everything worked as it should.
Not entirely sure if unplugging the Graphire (USB version) had anything
to do with it, because I didn't remove the drivers, or if just cleaning
out the registry from 3 failed installs did it.....but in any case, I'm
a happy camper now!
