Sometime later this week, we will be reorganizing the WordPerfect for
Linux and WordPerfect Office for Linux newsgroups. The reason is simply
for clarity's sake - currently, we've got a rather disorganized
collection.
What will happen:
These groups:
- corelsupport.linux.office2000.wordperfect
- corelsupport.linux.office2000.paradox
- corelsupport.linux.office2000.presentations
- corelsupport.linux.office2000.quattropro
- corelsupport.linux.office2000.installation
- corelsupport.linux.office2000.other
- corelsupport.linux.wordperfectoffice
- corelfeedback.linux.wordperfectoffice
will be merged into corelsupport.linux.office2000. All existing messages
should be merged into that one group.
corelsupport.wordperfect-linux will be renamed
corelsupport.wordperfect8-linux
And a new group, corelsupport.faqs.wpoffice_linux, will be created.
So, after the reorganization, the groups will be:
corelsupport.linux.office2000 - for all WPO2000L issues
corelsupport.wordperfect8-unix - for WP8Unix issues
corelsupport.wordperfect8-linux - for WP8Linux issues
corelsupport.faqs.wpoffice_linux - for WPO Linux FAQs
coreldevelopers.linux.wordperfectoffice - for WPO Linux developer
issues
I'm hoping that this will allow us to be a bit more organized and
efficient in our postings. After the merge occurs, you will need to
unsubscribe from the old groups and resubscribe to the new ones. (The
one exception is the wp8 unix group, which will remain unchanged.)
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email.
Regards,

Paradox is really the only one getting any real app-specific traffic, and
there hasn't been all that much. I'm just looking to make things easier to
handle - 10 groups is kind of a lot.
• In Netscape 4.5 and later, open the Messenger main window, highlight the
newsgroup server cnews.corel.com or cnews.corel.ca (which you will already
have set up, or you wouldn't be reading this message!)
In earlier versions of Netscape, open the Message Center, and highlight
the newsgroup server.
• Use File, Subscribe (in some versions this may be "Subscribe to
Newsgroups" or similar.) Make sure that the appropriate cnews server name
shows in the "server" list box.
• Click "refresh list" and the program will re-scan the newsgroup server
for all current newsgroups. Note that this process may take a few minutes
to complete.
You can typically decide to remove inactive newsgroups to which you were
previously subscribed, or leave them showing if you previously downloaded
message bodies and want to preserve the contents. Since efforts will be
made to transfer existing messages to the new groups, you may prefer to
remove the inactive groups once you have subscribed to the new groups.
