CorelDraw 9 and MathType (again)

I am reviving an old post

about math symbols displaying incorrectly in mathtype formulas embedded
in CorelDraw 9.
I tried to reply to this old post, but it was too old to do so.

Is anyone aware of any solution?
The problem seems to be the MT Extra TT fontset. I tried many
solutions, including the mathtype font installer provided at the
mathtype website.
The funny thing is that, as noted also in the old posts, this problem
does not affect earlier versions of coreldraw (mine is a prehistoric
7.0 version).
