I am rather new to Corel Draw, we have version 8. I am trying to wrap a
simple sentence around a semi circle, and other than typing one
character, rotating it and placing it in position on a radius, I have
found no other way to do this. Being that the sentence has over 30
characters, I am looking for an easy way out. Any ideas?

That one is easy.

Draw a line, circle, ellipse or whatever with the radius that you want to
follow. Type your text. Select both and then go Text / Align Text to Path.
You will be given choices on where and how you want the text aligned to the
path. Select what you like and you are done.

Type the sentence as a string of artistic text. With the text
selected, go to the Text menu and choose "Fit Text to Path" then
click the big arrow on the curve you want to fit it to.
