Importing text + bitmaps into Powerpoint

I generate many Coreldraw 7 files containing Coredraw text and imported
bitmaps (scans of pictures that I edited using PhotoPaint 7 and pasted
into Coreldraw). I need to import the files into MS Powerpoint 2000
(Office 2000 running under Windows 95) for presentations. If I try
copying and pasting into Powerpoint, the text is imported, but the
bitmaps disappear or just become a gray area. Saving the Coreldraw
graphic as a WMF file does not work either. I can get both text +
bitmaps if I export the graphic as a TIF file, but then the Powerpoint
slide show Moire patterns, which is unsatisfactory.
