I think you're pretty well forced to upgrade sooner or later, because of
compatibility problems like this if nothing else. As well as being almost
certainly able to read your JPG files, it has _much_ greater capability on
many fronts.
A note of caution, just in case you're not aware of it: The JPG format uses
what's called 'lossy' compression. What that means is that any time you save a
bitmap as a JPG, some of the data is irretrievably thrown out in the process.
So with a few saves, your image becomes progressively more and more degraded.
Use TIF instead. Depending on what application you're saving from, it will
allow you to use standard LZW compression, which is just as good as JPG, but
is completely lossless. Maybe not quite as convenient, but your images will
thank you.

I've been using CorelDraw (same as your version) for a long time but now
I need to export my graphics to .jpg. And, like you, I've had problems
where my computer just locks up.
I see that you can work with .tiff but how would you go about converting
.tiff to .jpg?
I would appreciate any information you can give me.
