Serial numbers

I recently bought corelDraw4 but it didn't come with a serial number.

The generic serial number doesn't work (CD4-111-111-1110)

Does anyone know where the serial number is stored for the system to know if
you entered the correct number or is ther a way around having to enter it

Any ideas would be greatly apprecited
