Sorry for repost. Forgot to include my email address

I have a bunch of old Corel 3.0/4.0 (?) files which have fonts using the old
Corel font names.

My old hardcopy of the docs (long since lost) had an equivalence table
listing the Corel font names and the proper Type 1 names. It was a fold up
card, I think, that came with the sw.

Sample names include Bravo, Kastler, Coronet and many others.

Does anyone know where such a table might be found on the Internet. I can't
seem to find anything on the Corel site.

If anyone can help me, please reply to lcli...@earthlink.net

Thanks

Thanks for the reply, Brian, but that didn't solve the problem.

CDFONT.ZIP @
http://www.corel.com/support/ftpsite/pub/coreldraw/draw3suite/index.htm

is a list of Corel 3 font names and these can be viewed/printed if I still
had a copy of Corel 3 (which I haven't, just 5 and 6),

while

40FONT.TXT @
http://www.corel.com/support/ftpsite/pub/coreldraw/draw4suite/index.htm

is a list of the Corel 4 font names. FNTSUB.ZIP, CORELF.ZIP and CD4FON.TXT
doesn't help either.

What I need is a list of equivalencies, i.e.. Corel 3 Bravo ~= Corel 4 ???
(Broadway?) etc. like in the file BTNAME.ZIP but complete for Corel 3 font
names.

There was such a list with one of my editions, Corel 4 I would guess. It was
a separate 3- or 4-fold card.

I've been able to figure out some of them because of the attempt by the
Corel 3 (?) font namers to use similar names, eg. Crescent for Croissant.

A scanned copy of that list would do just fine if you know where one might
be.

Thanks again.

Could that document be posted as an FAQ?

Brian,

We're getting closer but still not there. The list you show is just a
correspondence between the 8 character DOS file names and the embedded font
names. Useful, but not what I need.

Now that I think about it more, I seem to recall a section in the CorelDraw
3 hardcopy manual that had a table headed by something like this:

" If you like Adobe Croissant, try our Crescent" or some such like that,
followed by the table which listed the Adobe/Bitstream/Other font names on
one side and the CorelDraw equivalent on the other. The CorelDraw names were
all puns/synonyms/alliteratives (mostly) of the "real, ie. classical and
copyrighted" name, eg. Vivaldi for Vivienne, Bravo for Broadway. It was in
the same section of the manual which had images of the actual font faces.

I suppose I could buy a copy of the Draw 3 manual if its still available but
I'm trying to hold the cost down for my client and I don't know if I would
ever need this info again.

Thanks again for your help.

Brian,

Thanks a whole bunch, you are the man!

The only one not on this list is Coronet, but I'm going to fake it and not
waste any more time with it.

Thanks again for your help.

Corel rewls!
