I'm not all that familiar with WP's technical side, so it could be a
known WP problem but I'm pretty sure it's not a known Draw one.
I've just dragged an object from Draw10 to WP9 and saved it in WP.
Closing both Draw and WP and then dbl-clicking the WPD document just
opens WP.
So... how are you getting your Draw 10 files into WP9?
OBTW, you're right -- your attachment WAS bit large. I've deleted it
from the server for you.

I usually get them into WP using the clipboard. As i said, this does not
happen with all files, but when it does it's a major disater, and i'm really
at a loss as to where to start cleaning up. (I've taken to importing all
graphics as jpeg's now because they are much more stable, but of course you
lose the ability to edit them on site.) I am wondering if it has something
to do with the fact that you can open Draw from within WP by double clicking
on the graphic...have you tried this? If the session is not going too
badly, i will only get c.a.r.m. and i can cancel out of it, but when it
decides to open all the graphics separately it's another story.
Is "drag and drop" a more elegant way of importing Draw files? Is the
clipboard asking for trouble?
thanks!

Welcome to the weird and wonderful world of OLE!
WP9 doesn't understand Draw 10 files if you import them directly. When
you're copy'n'pasting into WP it simply inserts a CorelDRAW object.
When you dbl-click it, it opens Draw and now you have all the pleasures
of running one enormous application INSIDE another. Oh, joy! <g>
Can you not side-step all these problems by exporting your drawings from
Draw as WPG files and then, if required, use WP to edit them?

Or even if they don't? <g>
