Alright.
I've been whining about resouce leaks for while now and think I have
finally pinned it down.
Pdox 9, SP4, win 98 2nd Ed

I using proview's "free resouces" display to confirm this.
With a form opened and the project viewer pinned, select any object and
press escape to move through the object hiearchy. Watch the resouce
meter. Rather rapidly resouces go away and do not return.

Is this a bad install on my system? Is nobody seeing this but poor
little ole me?

Do you really mean Project Viewer? It sounds more like ObjectExplorer.

Hi!

Do you mean Project Viewer or Object Explorer? It seems you mean OE,
because PV can not be pinned. With OE pinned I confirm dropping GDI
resources during moving from the inner object up to the topmost through the
hierarchy. But selecting the inner object again or closing the form
restores resources. P9/SP3/Win98.

Err, yea, Object Explorer.
My resources do not restore when closing form. I do get some back but not
all. I have to close pdox completely.

Has there been any confirmation on this?
I need to know if this is problem with my install or an SP4 issue.
I can get along pretty well if I keep the Object Explorer unpinned, but if I
open a large library to work on resources dwindle fast. It's quite annoying
to have half a dozen forms and tables open and then have to close everything
and exit when resources run low.
Since I have this problem on this system (win 98) and win ME I expect its not
my install. Is no one else out there developing and using SP4?

I'll escalate this to Corel. When I did some tests now, the Object Explorer
and the Editor in combination will maek the resources disappear. Especially
scrolling the object list in the Editor using the arrow keys. I ended up
with a Windows message saying 90% of my resources were used.

Running P9 SP4 on Win 95 B.

Thanks.
Good to know I'm not going insane.
The work around is as you suggested. Don't scroll through the list. Selecting
the method by typing the first letter seems to preserve resouces better and more
come back when you close the object. Works as long as you can recall the method
name.
