Copy and Paste phenomena!

I have been living with this wrinkle for some time but finally am
exasperated enough to seek help. In WP 11 and more recently in 12, when I
Copy or Cut to the clipboard and subsequently Paste I get all sorts of
formatting changes in what has been Copied or Cut. The most obvious change
is the insertion of multiple Tab sets that I can see down the left margin.
In addition the number 1 appears below the copied segment.

If I open 'Reveal Codes' a whole bunch of Formatting instructions are
displayed. These include, in addition to multiple Tab sets, Para Spacing,
VAD, and lots of other things that I don't understand - some with strings of
numbers, and frequent Font size changes. If I meticulously (and slowly) pull
them all off then my copied text returns to normal.

What's happened? Have I picked up a hidden Macro or something? I didn't do
the formatting changes or even attempt to make a Macro. Anyone recognize
this behavior.?It's driving me nuts. Regards, Denzil

That happens to me if I copy something from a website and paste it
into
a wordperfect document. It happens because the copy function copies
hidden codes on the web page. I avoid the problem by choosing Paste
Simple.
