When I click "File|Open", if I have the folders pane option selected, it
takes about fifteen seconds for the view to open. However, if I do not
have the folders pane option selected, the view opens immediately.

I don't have the same problem using the folders pane option in launching
Windows Explorer. Thus, the problem appears to be with the Wordperfect
software.
Does anyone know why I'm experiencing delay in opening files with the
folders pane option selected? I am running Wordperfect 11.0.0.410 on a
Windows XP (with SP2) platform.
