Solved it !!! apparently a bad installation .. coruupt .
unistalling and reinstalling QP did not fix it.
uninstalled complete suite
deleted folder D:\Program Files\Corel
regedit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE delete Corel folder
reboot
reinstall Corel Office 2002
apply SP3
reboot
apply SP4
reboot ..
works fine now....

Corel changed the newsgroups on their server. This newsgroup may still
carry messages because your ISP still carries it (or Google Groups),
but the bulk of the messages originated from cnews.corel.com and there
this group no longer exists.

Look here for a new list of Corel newsgroups, including a new group for
WP10:
http://support.corel.com/scripts/rightnow.cfg/php.exe/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=754345

You can also set your newsreader to get messages from
cnews.corel.com
and refresh the list of newsgroups. How that is done depends on your
newsreader.
