We have WP Office 2002 with SP3 and HP4 operating on WinXP box. There is
currently one machine which cannot open a file that has a shortcut on the
desktop to it. The messages that are received include, "QuattroPro 10
Loader has encountered a problem" and the program is ended, and
"filename.wb3 is not a valid Win32 application."

I've tried restoring QP to factory settings by holding the shift key and
executing the application (not through the doc shortcut, but through the
app's exe) as well as re-associating the QP files with QP by selecting
QuattroPro Loader to be the application to use when opening the wb3 file
types. (I also tried setting that to Quattro Pro without success.)

Does anyone have any other ideas? The document in question can be opened on
any other workstation without issue and if I create a brand new file and
then make a shortcut on the desktop to that new file, I still receieve the
same messages.

Can you open up Quattro Pro and then open the file directly, rather than
trying to use the shortcut?

You have already tried the two most common fixes to your problem. The only
other solution I know of is to uninstall WPO, then reinstall it.
