I have a the latest MySQL ODBC driver installed and a number of aliases
which point to a webserver. Prior to installing XP SP2 this worked just fine
and I could query remote MySQL tables and update them from Paradox. Since
SP2 the aliases have simply stopped working - choosing an alias from the
dropdown list just causes it to jump back to :work:. There is no way I can
get it to even list the tables in those aliases any more. When I test the
driver config it tells me it successfully connects to the remote MySQL
server, so there doesn't seem to be a problem with web access. In fact the
same problem occurs on a test machine that's running MySQL / Apache locally
and the alias points to localhost.
I have tried reinstalling the MySQL driver, adding Paradox to the
applications that are granted web access, and finally I have disabled the
Windows firewall completely (no problem as the machine is behind a hardware
firewall anyway). Nothing has made the slightest difference. Since I have
about half a million records in Paradox tables that I need to add to a MySQL
machine I really need to find a fix for this. Any suggestions, even long
shots, gratefully received!

This is a known problem with Win XP - SP2.
Try to use Visual Query Builder instead of QBE until your problem is fixed.
Unless Microsoft make changes to Win XP, you can not expect Paradox 9 to
behave differently. I would be surprised if Corel would make changes to
anything but Paradox 10 and/or 11.
