Paradox and paging file size

Hi. We have product written with Borland C++ which uses Paradox/IDAPI for
creating temporary tables.
It worked OK, BUT when system page file size was increased it started show
error: "Too many fields in Table Create"

I know that Paradox has limit on field number - 255 and Paradox cannot
create table with more then this number columns.

BUT how all this depends on page file size??

I have only one explanation - Paradox cannot reach this limit after page
file size was increased. Why?

Common suggestion for such situation when Paradox cannot reach limits is
increase SHAREDMEMSIZE in BDE Config and set the MEMSIZE setting to 24. We
did this and nothing changed.

Do anybody have any idea what is going on.

What did you increase? And why? What did you try to achieve by changing it?

Which program is producing the error message?

I hope that you'll find some clues here, but the folks over on the Borland BDE
forum couldn't help much.. and we're all using Paradox the software here.. not
Paradox tables with other platforms.. that is *not* one of the BDE errors that
comes thru in Paradox the software..
