We are using Paradox 7 on Windows XP SP1.

We have a query that is calc summing numeric fields.

On some of the computers the results are correct and on other computers the
amount for one employee is incorrect.

An example is

Jim Smith Correct Amount is $569.00 and it is showing up as $5,951.00

Has anyone else seen this problem?

Thanks for your help.

In this same group is a thread "Calculation error Paradox 7 and WINDOWS XP".

While it doesn't describe the exact same reponse you seem to get, it is VERY
close.

Are the two values you posted the actual values you see?

Tony

It only is happening on one employee and when we query that one employees
records for the same date range the amounts are correct on certain machines.

We have two identical Windows XP SP1 machines. One machine queries the
correct data ($569.00) and the other machine does not work properly
($5,951.00).

normal behavior of this error would be for the 5-6-9 to become 5-6-two digits
that add up to 9.. it's an old p5 / p7 fluke that has suddenly started
re-appearing on XP occasionally.. and, yes, it's a "bad thing"..

but your numbers are a different pattern?

That's why I asked.

I was thinking maybe the numbers were $596.00 and $5,951.00, which would
match up with the error as it has been reported.

"certain date range" makes me wonder if you are't hitting these problems
due to mismatched date settings between machines. It's kind of a stretch
because you'd expect all of the result rows to be incorrect, but it's
probably worth mentioning.

Are the Windows date settings on these problem machines different than on
the ones where it works properly? Are you using a criteria table on
typing/selecting a literal date range in the query form?

John should also probably check his FourDigitYear setting in the BDE
configuration.
