Can't seem to find anything in the help on that point, but it's probably in
twips. At least for version 5 I would say. And lest you should ask - a
twip is 1/20 of a printer's point hence my guess that it is truly a twip.

Before you try to use those variables, read this:

Thank you,

After experimenting all morning and not seeing any changes, I concur with
Brian that these parameters are useless.

As you've found out, those don't work in the later versions of Paradox
(if they ever did), but I've implemented a margin adjust feature in one
of my apps. It only works on undelivered reports thought. You load the
report in design mode (use load() instead of open()) with the
winstyleHidden option, change the margin properties (I think they're
topMargin, bottomMargin, leftMargin, and rightMargin - and don't forget
to account for portrait or landscape), set the designModified property
to false, then run and print the report.

Jeff,

This is exactly what I am trying to do but here is the problem that I am
having. I have a labeled field on a report. I want it to grow to the width
of the report margins and then height if additional space is needed.
FitWidth is grayed out. So ideally I would like to use your method to adjust
the margins and have the fields grow and shink in width and height as
necessary. Is this possible?

Thanks,

Jack

I'm reasonably sure it's possible, but I've never tried it. I use the
margin adjust in a label printing application where field placement is
critical enough that the differences in printers and cause the data to
miss the label.

You'd probably need to get the size and position properties of the
fields, then calculate the requied size and position and reset the
properties as required. I believe it would have to be done in twips (I
believe there's 1440 twips per inch).

Sorry I can't be of more help...
