I just installed WPO 2002 standard version and also installed SP3 and
hotpatch 4. I cannot open or create an address book or calendar. I had WPO
2000 that was working okay. Now, I can't get my address book or calendar in
WPO 2000 to open correctly either. So, for the moment, I cannot access my
data at all. I'm running WinXP home version. I have not tried uninstalling
WPO 2002. Any ideas?
Thanks

Try repairing the install.
Browse to the root of you WP Suite CD and find the WPO* (or similar).msi
file (If you can't "see" the .msi file in question then you need to turn
"view hidden files and folders" on in Windows Explorer via TOOLS/FOLDER
OPTIONS/VIEW). Right click on the file and choose "repair". Let it do
it's thing.

I tried the .msi and I still cannot create or open a calendar. I also
cannot use my old corel central 9 calendar as that was automatically updated
to the new version upon install of WPO2002. I get two different errors
depending on how I try to create or open a calendar. One error 'data base
cannot be created' Another error ' connection failure'
Because of reading some other threads I tried rebooting after repair of .msi
and then reinstalled hotpatch 4. Same results. I read in a thread to
delete the 'borland' file in the registry, but, am not sure if that will
apply to my problem. Thanks again for any help. I live by my calendar and
not being able to open it is a total frustration!

WP9 locks up. I cannot open files in WP10 at all. I can create a document
in WP10. In the Central 10 Address book the import/export button is grayed
out. I was able to open my Central 9 address books.

Hmmm..
OK. For WP9 go to the Program files/Corel/WPO2000/Programs folder and
find PFREG.exe and run it. Hit the "register" button. That should fix
up WP9.

How did you get CC9 address book to open? Or.. are you opening your CC9
books within CC10?

I did that after installing WPO2002 and the AB worked as previously. I
did not then attempt to use the AB feature in WP10.

problems.
I was earlier opening my Central 9 addresss books in Central 10 by using the
open file button. The files that imported automatically were corrupted,
but, the address books I 'opened' using open file worked okay.
After running PFREG.exe in Program files/Corel/WPO2000/Programs folder the
grayed
out buttons in Central 10 are now appearing.
My personal calendar opened automatically with Central 10 calendar also
opening automatically after running PFREG.

Thanks for your help. That is one I never would have figured out on my own.
