problems installing wp10 with xp-home

I have finally moved to XP-Home and tried to re-install (parts of) my
WP Office 2002.
What I am really only (or mainly) interested in is my wp10
I started and installed without a problem and then started to install
a number of the service packs and hotpatches that are available on
http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=Corel2%2FDownloads%2FSupportDownloads&pname=WordPerfect+10
At the end of the trip I have version 10.0.0.990 but no Helpfile
After searching and googling I decided that the best solution was
uninstalling and starting from scratch, however after installing again
from the original cd without any updates, service packs, or hotpatches
I still seem to have version 10.0.0.990 but no Helpfile.
Can someone pleas tell me what to do (in simple idiotproof
uncomplicated words) to clear everything out and start again and tell
me which updates I need and the sequence I need to install them.
(For instance I don't understand why there is a WordPerfect Office
2002 Service Pack 4 and also a WordPerfect Office 2002 Hot Patch 4. Do
I need both or only one and if the latter which one? Same goes for
v.3)

The problem stems from a bad pointer in the registry... in the initial
release (maybe up to 10.0.0.663)
The previous and wrong pointer was
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Corel\AppMan\10
When it's still looking for and is the correct pointer
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AppMan\
Unfortunately, they fixed the bad pointer, but the apps are still looking
for the previous wrong one.
I have (somewhere) a reg files that fixes this.... if you want I can email
it to you... tomorrow.
