I've been doing several searches and applied the suggestions, but I
still have no guidelines (or whatever they're called) for the margins
in my documents since I migrated from W98se to XP-home.
In Tools>Setting?Display I have checked and unchecked Windows System
Colors. The View>Guidelines are checked.
Is there anyhting else I could/should do to get the marginlines
showing up again?
I'm using wp10 v. 10.0.0.719 and would prefer leaving it at that after
all the problems I had with disappearing Helpfiles etc. (see previous
thread (problems installing wp10 with xp-home)

Thanks for any help.

One thing that would upset this is if you changed some of the Windows
Color settings.

Please specify: type of monitor and its current display resolution. If
a TFT, please note its native resolution also.

LCD (Flat panel screen) or real CRT monitor?

Also, just in case... your view is set to what?

1.Launch WP
2.Click View,

Draft or Page?

Flat panel 15"
And to answer Roy's question the resolution is 1024x768, color 32bits
as it has been previously in win98se.
How do I find what you call the native resolution?

Page. I've always had it on Page in W98se and I've tried now whether
there's a difference and there isn't.

If I push my nose right up to the TFT (about 3 inches) I can very
faintly see the margin lines.

Thanks

If I don't reply immediately to further postings, it is because I will
be away till Thursdaynight.

It may appear in some on-screen menu - there may be an option to set
resolution to Default or similar. It will appear in the handbook.

Some TFTs are better than others at showing this sort of detail.
Running at other than the native resolution is likely to make things
worse.

try 16bit color or 800x600.... I've noticed that flat LCP panel aren't
created equal some work better at lower res and lower color depth...
soemthing to do with the size of the dot/color contrast.

Thanks guys for your suggestions, but this doesn't help. No
difference. Another thing is that I never had the problem before I
installed XP-Home.

I am having a whizz-cousin in one of these days and will have him look
at it. He'll probably see something I don't.

If a solution comes up, I'll mention it here, in case anyone else
encounters the same problem.

Thanks
Menno
