"Used default extension on open and save"
and have removed the default "wpd"
I click apply and close. During that session all is well.
Next time I run my WP10 the uncheck is still ok, but the extension wpd
shows up in the little window at the end of the line.
But, even worse at least it's contrary to what I want, the default
filename shows up with the extension wpd.
How can I suppress this and keep it suppressed?
Anyone please?
Thanx

Details
With the "Use Default Extension on Open and Save" option unchecked WP9
changes the file extension to wpd on "Save As" when opening documents with
file extensions other than wpd. This is irrespective of the entry in the
default extension window.
Answer
This issue has been reported to engineering. One possible workaround is
to disable Enhanced File Dialogs.
To disable Enhanced File Dialogs
• From within WordPerfect, click on the Tools Menu and select Settings...
• Click on Files
• Uncheck the box labeled "Use Enhanced File Dialogs"
This will allow save as to retain the extension of the document.
NOTE: Enhanced file dialogs add more features to the Open and Save dialog
boxes. Disabling these dialog boxes will disable some features in the
suite.

Thanks Jack, but no.
Apart from the fact that of course the dialog changes when saving, the
"problem" remains exactly as stated.
Menno
You might try the usual trouble-shooting step of renaming your default
template (probably WP9NL.WPT) to some other name (still with a .WPT
extension) and restarting WPWin 9.
