I've been using WP9 SP3 (with Windows ME). The WP Office 2000 CD came with
the computer, and it came without the WP9 equation editor.
SO..................... I installed WP8, copied the relevant files,
uninstalled WP 8, edited the registry, and............ I had myself the
MathType equation editor. That was fine. I wasn't too happy with Corel. I
have the feeling that my WP Office 2000 CD came with a selection of
features, but was missing some.

I've just installed SP4, and ..... again there's no WP 9equation editor -
not even a folder called "equation" Does anyone know in what folder I
should place the equation editor (which I've backed-up) and its associated
files?

Or should I

a. Uninstall WP9 and go back to WP8

b. Throw in the towel and learn Word - I do not want to do this.

thanks

John

If using the regular SP4 CD you choose ()Custom install twice, a Dialog
shows the available elements. Eqn Edit appears under Utilities.

Thanks but.......

I've tried to do a custom install, but under "utilities" there is no mention
of "equation"

I note that on the banner there is "WordPerfect Office 2000 OEM". I wonder
about the "OEM"

Well, there you are.-(}
OEM versions typically leave out items to cut costs - it seems that this has
happened here.
