Hi,
for some reason when I print an envelope from WordPerfect, it always comes
out blue! I checked the font color and even append to document so I can
highlight and hit black as color, and it still comes out blue. Any
thoughts?
Thank you.

In Format|Envelope|Define there is a Font option.
You may have selected Blue there.

What printer and driver version are you using?
How are you creating the envelopes?

Hi Joell
I'm using a Lexmark Z53 printer, with driver files saying 4.10.1998. In the
Driver File Details found in device manager.
To create the envelope I'm using what I've always used...the envelope tool
in WordPerfect 9. I've even tried to append to document and this doesn't
work either. Strange thing!...

Just did a quick test on my Z31 and it printed in blue and red.
So...there must be a setting there somewhere....darned if I know where
though.

What happens when you print to a PDF printer instead? (PDF995.com has a
free one).

LOL.. I wasn't clear that I asked it to print in blue and red...
Black works fine too. :-)

Theresa,

Have you checked the Lexmark web site for updated drivers? You seem to
be using the default Windows driver.

I tried downloading the newest drivers...I guess I got them, but with my
poor old hard drive one can never tell. Nothing changed on the color
problem, but I did try appending to document, and then going to properties
on the print and check "Black" only. That worked...it's a lot of extra
steps, but if I remember to do it, then at least I'll have black lettering
instead of a faint bluish purple.
Thanks for your ideas and help.
Sincerely
Theresa

You need in Windows to delete the printer, accepting any offer to delete
files, then reinstall it, pointing to the new drivers. Or double-clicking
the downloaded file may do the trick - there should be some instructions
on the website.

After you follow Lemoto's advice and install the new drivers, you can
install a second instance of the printer but set it to black only (and of
course name it appropriately). Then rather than all the extra steps, just
select the printer you want.

Also, in WordPerfect you can have a default printer for WPWin that is not
necessarily the default Windows printer. In that way you could for
example have the color printer as the Windows default and the black
printer as the WPWin default (since I presume that the vast majority of
your WPWin documents will be just black and white as they are with me)
