In WP Legal Edition version 8.0.0.711(latest service pack) on a Windows 2000
Pro machine with Service Pack 2...
Every time I run spellchecker, after it spell checks the document it asks if
you want to close spellchecker, upon clicking yes to this prompt, I receive
the error:
WPWin8.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will
need to restart the program. An error log is being generated.
There are no entries in the application or system event log pertaining to
wpwin8. I have read a previous post on this toopic suggesting that a TSR
application or proccess is conflicting with WP, however after killing what I
believe to be all the unnessecary proccess running in the backround the
problem persists. Any suggestions would be much appriciated.

Please try answering 'No' to that question, and then closing the dialog
using the 'Close' button.

Do you have a scanner attached with TSRs running? Try end-tasking those.
DO you still get the crash? If not, you could decide only to activate the
scanner software when you wish to use it.

Or

Do you have a wheel mouse? Try using the WIndows default driver fo that
mouse.

I had this problem in your configuration, but with WP9 Legal (SP4). There
was a patch that substituted a new PFit90.dll The information with the
patch indicated that this was a problem with ODMA applications installed on
the system. I deleted the ODMA32.dll file since I didn't use the ODMA
features of the Groupwise that was on my system and all worked properly.
Maybe you could use either the wp9 patch or try the ODMA solution.
