The killer feature that any lawyer worth his salt needs is the document map.
This is the only feature that MS Weird had that is of use. It is nice to see
WP poaching from Big Bucks Bill. I am in heaven now - a document map and
reveal codes. What more can you ask for for those multipage briefs?
Now for those of you looking for a tip for document production here is my
humble suggestion.
Use Table of Contents in all long pleadings.
Use styles to create entries
For Text use the outline feature - and to start use Control H in Windows
Keyboard and Control T with WP keybord.
Turn on the document map to go to your headings while you are drafting,
remembering to refresh the document map as you go.

I've heard much more positive things on WP11's release than on earlier
versions. Only gripe of significance has been the missing viewers.
Do hope that Corel is "listening", though!

Tom, when you've got a contract (or will, or corporate bylaws, or
whatever) that has outline numbering, the Document Map can appear in a
sidebar giving you the section numbers and titles, so you can easily
jump to a particular section. It's quite handy, and one of the few
things Word had that I wished WP did.

I think a large part of the problem is that I have not suffered through
really learning and understanding how to create and use styles.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The dialog box is indeed a step backward. And it's really, really
difficult to set up an outline definition with the table of contents
markings already set, because to include text that has to be all there
is in the paragraph. So what you should do: customize your keyboard
for ToC marking: set up Ctrl-Shift-1 to be Mark Level One,
Ctrl-Shift-2 to Mark Level Two, and so on. Then get used to keyboard
navigation to bounce from paragraph to paragraph: creating a Table of
Contents goes a lot quicker that way.
