WP 5.1 guru needed

Having trouble printing and accessing old WP5.1 for DOS software (note, not
WP5.1+) on a Novell 3.12 network with PC Docs Classic. Users cannot enter
WP5.1 like they always could (on the h: drive). Well, that's not quite true --
some can. If I change to another drive (virtual drives, you understand), they
can access. Also, I have one printer (out of 7) that only prints
intermittently. It seems that when a user is still on their local hard drive
copy of a document, the print command goes through. But when they are on a
file server copy, the print screen says that the network cannot locate the
printer. Go figure.

ANY thoughts, suggestions, ideas or technical advice would be more than greatly
appreciated! Our firm is planning a major, major, major upgrade in the next 3
to 4 months, but I need to keep this poor old network, held together with
bailing wire and chewing gum, running until then!

It sounds like more of a network problem, than a software problem. . .have you
checked the condition of the wires and etc. on the network itself?

you can do a DOS command . . .
TYPE DIR >LPT1 to test the printer connection at each workstation.

Let me know what you find out
